The Protemp Committee for PADU was established in 1986, and remained active until 1988. The inaugural logo for the association was designed by Dr. Aini from Sabah, whilst the initial consitution was drafted by Dr. Abdul Shukor Abdul Hamid (first batch). The first committee had Dr. Jafri Malin Abdullah as president, Dr. Abdul Shukor Abd. Hamid as secretary and Dr. Abd. Razif Abd. Razak as its treasurer. The society was dissolved in 1989 due to some circumstances.

The Alumni Association was re-established in 1993 and held its first meeting on May 17, 1993 with ten committee members (view minutes of meeting here | inaugural committee members). A new logo was also designed. Unfortunately, the association had to be dissolved once again by the Registrar of Societies.

The association was re-established yet again in 1995 with the new name "Persatuan Alumni Perubatan USM '94 (PAPUSMA)", and later renamed as "Persatuan Alumni Doktor USM (PADU)" with a new association logo.  This new logo was designed by Dr. Rashid Zulkifli (Consultant Orthopedics, Southern Melaka Medical Centre).

The first General Meeting of the association was held at a meeting room in the Department for Medical Education. The second meeting (1996) was attended by representatives of the states and members from Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang . Also in attendance was USM Kelantan Campus Director, Dato' Prof. Dr. Mohd. Roslani (as our Patron), and the Dean and Deputy Dean of the School of Medicine, as well as lecturers of PPSP.

Today, PADU is proud to continue serving the medical world and the community at large, with its activities. Since early 201, our social welfare & education fund has been rebranded as "PADUCare".

Sejarah PADU

Persatuan Alumni Doktor Perubatan USM ditubuhkan secara protemp pada tahun 1986 dan secara sah pada tahun1988. Logo pertama Persatuan Alumni Doktor Perubatan USM direka oleh seorang doktor dari Sabah, Dr. Aini manakala perlembagaan persatuan hasil usaha Dr. Abdul Shukor Abdul Hamid (batch pertama). Presiden pertama ialah Dr. Jafri Malin Abdullah, Setiausaha oleh Dr. Abdul Shukor Abd. Hamid dan jawatan Bendahari dipegang oleh Dr. Abd. Razif Abd. Razak. Atas sebab-sebab tertentu, persatuan ini terpaksa dibubarkan pada tahun 1989.

Persatuan Alumni ditubuhkan semula pada tahun 1993 Mesyuarat pertama penubuhan persatuan adalah pada 17 Mei 1993 oleh 10 orang AJK penaja. Logo baru digunakan pada masa ini. Walau bagaimanapun, sekali lagi persatuan terpaksa dibubarkan oleh Pendaftar pertubuhan.

Persatuan ditubuhkan semula pada tahun 1995 dengan nama Persatuan Alumni Perubatan USM '94 (PAPUSMA) yang kemudiannya ditukarkan kepada Persatuan Alumni Doktor USM (PADU) dengan logo yang baru. Logo ini direka oleh Dr. Zulkifli Rashid (Pakar Orthopedik, Southern Melaka Medical Centre).

Mesyuarat Agung pertama persatuan diadakan dibilik Jabatan Pendidikan Perubatan. Mesyuarat kedua, Dekad Sepuluh tahun diadakan pada tahun 1996 di Jabatan Pendidikan Perubatan dengan dihadiri oleh wakil-wakil negeri dan ahli-ahli daripada Kelantan, Terengganu dan Pahang. Turut hadir Pengarah Kampus USM Cawangan Kelantan, Dato' Prof. Dr. Mohd. Roslani selaku Penaung, Dekan, Timbalan Dekan Pusat Pengajian Sains Perubatan dan juga pensyarah-pensyarah PPSP.

Kini, PADU dengan bangganya meneruskan usaha menjejak ke dunia perubatan dan masyarakat untuk menjayakan aktivitinya.
